Why Wood Pellet?

Wood pellets give you the look of a "real wood" fire without the cleaning and maintenance hassles of a standard wood stove.

Pellet stoves today have efficiency ratings of around 80-85%.

When coupled with the stove efficiency ratings pellet fuel is an affordable fuel option.

Easy to clean.  A 40 pound bag of pellets produces only 3 ounces of ash.

Made of 100% sawdust that would otherwise be destined for our landfills.

Since pellet stove emissions (at around 1.2 grams/hr) are so low they can be burned in most areas even with burning restrictions.   Current EPA regulations allow no more than 7.5 grams per hr.

Most pellet stoves can burn a day or more without being filled or otherwise attended to.

Because of the near total combustion (around 98.5%) pellet stoves produce virtually no creosote.  This also allows installation of a pellet stove without a chimney!

Pellet fuel contains very small amounts of sulfur or other noxious elements as are contained in non-renewable coal and petroleum resources.

What is a wood pellet?

A wood pellet is made from waste sawdust, compressed under extremely high pressure using no glues or other additives.  The wood waste comes from the finest furniture manufacturers, sawmills, planer mills, and general woodworking mills.  The pellets come in 40 pound bags that are clean, easy to handle, and readily available.

One ton of wood pellets has the heat value of about one and a half cords of wood and stacks easily in one third the space!  Wood pellets are a clean, environmentally friendly, natural, renewable fuel resource.
